Highland Special - 2019

19th - 26th July - tour leader - Gordon Rae

This tour is designed to be a full on action packed week focusing on one of the Scottish Highlands most iconic birds, the Osprey, they travel here each year to breed and rear their young before returning back to warmer climates again.
During your tour we will have exclusive use of the purpose built hides at Rothiemurchus for three early morning plus two evening diving sessions.
Each client will also have the opportunity to visit a perched set up where a fish is placed out each day for the Osprey to come down to feed, this gives a very different type of shot which is great for varying your portfolio of Osprey images.
You will also each enjoy a morning session in a red squirrel hide, and a visit up to Chanonry point to see the Bottlenose Dolphins, which can put on a spectacular show on a good day.
This year we have included a free day for you to explore the Cairngorms National Park at your leisure, or you can if you wish join us as we travel around the area looking to photograph the local wildlife.

Island Photographic Holiday - 2019

Tour 1 - TBC - tour leader - Gordon Rae, assisted by Val Gall
Tour 2 - TBC - tour leader - Gordon Rae, assisted by Val Gall

This is a unique opportunity to join us on an Island just off Scotland's west coast for a photographic holiday with a difference.

Val Gall who lived on the Island for a number of years has helped pull this trip together, her in depth knowledge of the area and the wildlife that lives within it will be invaluable to us during our stay.

On the trip we will be working totally in the wild, so it will be a chance for you to test your field craft skills, and at the same time learn a bit about the behaviour of the different subjects that you will be photographing.

Our holiday has been timed to centre around the annual Red Deer rut, that along with the Islands growing population of Otters, Seals, and other wildlife opportunities that can be found along the way should all in all make for a great four days photography.
There will also be, if the weather is in our favour a chance for some lovely landscape shots around the Island.

Included in your package will be five nights B+B (all rooms booked as single occupancy) plus all transport around the Island.

The cost of your holiday will be TBC, a deposit of TBC will secure your place (4 places available on each trip)

PLEASE NOTE :- If you want to come on a holiday and fill endless memory cards with images this is not the trip for you.
This trip is all about enjoying the experience of finding and photographing wildlife in it's own environment and the field craft required to help get you the shot.

Winter Otters - 2019

Tour 1 - 1st - 5th December - tour leader - Gordon Rae
Tour 2 - 16th - 20th December - tour leader - Gordon Rae

If your looking for a real challenge in your wildlife photography then this could just be the very trip for you.

During your trip we will spend three full days searching and exploring the coastline and sea lochs of this picturesque Scottish West Coast Island, the main target species, the shy and elusive wild Otter.

Although we will encounter other wildlife opportunities along the way our main concentration will be on the otters.
We will have challenges though, firstly we need to locate an otter, we then through careful field craft techniques try to approach it, we will only do so if the conditions are right as the welfare of the otter must be our priority, disturbance has to be kept to an absolute minimum or the opportunity will be lost.
Hopefully then we can get you some amazing images to add to your portfolio.

During the trip we will be working along rocky coastlines, and as we are sure to encounter rain at some point along the way the shoreline can be very slippy indeed.
It can be tough going at times, but this is a real true wildlife experience, when it all works and everything comes together then you will feel the real connection with one of Scotlands most amazing freshwater mammals.

Included in your package will be four nights B+B (all rooms booked as single occupancy) your ferry ticket, plus all transport around the Island.

The cost of your holiday will be £800, a deposit of £125 will secure your place (Due to the nature of this trip there are only 2 places available on each trip)
